what I do at work…

ODLO INSIGHTS #WeAreOdlo via LinkedIn What is your focus in the daily business at ODLO? In the design team we start each season with research, mostly on-line but also going to shops and exhibitions as well as garment factories. Once we have set a design direction as a team, each of us dives into different products. For me at the moment this is Women’s activewear for Summer 2020. First I get a product briefing from product management which tells me what type of products are needed and then start by selecting the fabrics. Next comes the sketching and developing the actual garments together with pattern makes and developers. From the first concept presentation to the final sample it takes more than 6 months and we are always working on several seasons simultaneously. Why do you like working for ODLO? At Odlo we are developing our products from scratch, starting with the material. The standards are very high and we are really close to the innovations and trends of the sports industry. Every season I learn something new whether it is a new manufacturing technology like circular seamless knitting or working with a software that converts our 2-dimensional sketches into 3-D renderings.
